Volkswagen's PowerCo Eyes External Financing Amid Budget Cuts

03:23 AM EST, 12/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Volkswagen Group ( VOW.F) battery company PowerCo is considering securing external financing through bank loans, external investors, and a public offering. Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing PowerCo's Chief Executive Officer Frank Blome, that a third-party financing option is being looked into "more closely" than before after the German automotive group reduced the unit's budget. Blome added that there are no plans to cease construction of PowerCo's German, Spanish, and Canadian plants.
