According to a letter published on Tuesday local time, the director of the US Federal Aviation Administration said that he has not yet divested his shares in Republic Airlines, but he will continue to avoid issues that may affect the airline's financial position as he works to sell his shares. Last week, US Democratic Senator Maria Cantwell claimed that FAA Director Brian Bedford had broken the moral agreement because he previously served as CEO of Republic Airlines, and although he agreed to sell his shares within 90 days of being appointed in July of this year, it is still unfinished. Bedford told Cantwell in a letter on Monday that he has avoided matters directly affecting Republic's financial interests and is working to “sell shares” as soon as reasonably practicable.
