On December 16, local time, the US White House said that US President Trump signed a notice to further restrict the entry of foreign citizens. The White House said that the United States imposed comprehensive restrictions and entry restrictions on the five countries of Burkina Faso, Mali, the Niger, South Sudan, and Syria, and persons holding travel documents issued by the Palestinian National Authority; imposed comprehensive restrictions and entry restrictions on the two countries that had previously implemented partial restrictions — Laos and Sierra Leone; and imposed partial restrictions and entry restrictions on the following 15 countries: Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, Dominica, Gabon, Gambia, Malawi, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Tonga, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Furthermore, the United States lifted the ban on nonimmigrant visas, but continued to suspend the entry of Turkmen citizens as immigrants.
