MPC Container Ships Orders Six New Ships, Sells Another

05:56 AM EST, 12/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- MPC Container Ships (MPCC.OL) placed an order worth $292.5 million for six new container ships and agreed to sell a vessel for $24 million. The shipping company said Tuesday it leased the ships on 10-year charters to an unnamed liner company, along with extension options. The charters are expected to generate $479 million in revenue. First deliveries are expected in the second half of 2028. Additionally, MPC Container agreed to sell the AS Clementina vessel, with handover expected at the end of its current charter at the end of the second quarter of 2026.
