Ofwat Hands Over GBP11 Million Enforcement to Wessex Water

05:50 AM EST, 12/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The UK Water Services Regulation Authority, or Ofwat, on Tuesday handed over an over 11 million-pound-sterling enforcement package to Wessex Water for the inadequate operation and upgrade of its wastewater network. The regulator said the package will be paid by the company and its shareholders, and the consumers will remain unaffected. The enforcement includes sealing sewer pipes and reducing spills at storm overflows, among other things. Ofwat noted that the enforcement is in addition to the investment the company will make to remedy the violations.
