Ifo: Business Sentiment in German Residential Construction 'Somewhat' Brightens in November

03:00 AM EST, 12/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Business climate in German residential construction "somewhat" improved again in November, following a dip in October, with companies appearing less pessimistic about their current situation while their expectations remain muted for the coming months. The business climate index rose to -21 points from -22.8 points in the previous month, the ifo Institute said Tuesday. Still, the share of companies with a lack of orders rose to 47% from 44.4%, while the number of cancellations jumped to 11% from 8%, marking their highest level since October 2024. As such, ifo Head of Surveys Klaus Wohlrabe warned that recovery remains nowhere in sight.
