The BAIC Group said it plans to launch L3 operations in specific scenarios in the first quarter of 2026. Today, according to the official website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Changan Automobile and BAIC Blue Valley Magna recently submitted an application for admission to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for intelligent connected vehicle products equipped with L3 conditional autonomous driving functions. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology conditionally approved the relevant products in the 401st batch of “Notice”. “The model declared this time is the Polar Fox Alpha S, equipped with 34 high-performance sensors including 3 lidars.” BAIC said that currently there are three versions of the BAIC Yuanjing smart driving technology system: Pro, Max, and Ultra. The Max version uses 400-600T computing power, which can be expanded to L3 level conditional autonomous driving based on the world model and VLA technology; the Ultra version uses more than 1000T of computing power and is aimed at L4 class driverless taxis.
