11:57 PM EST, 12/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Havila Shipping (HAVI.OL) received demands for prepayment from DNB Bank, Swedbank, and Danske Bank in relation to a restructuring deal still being disputed in court. The Norwegian shipping company said Dec. 12 that the banks, which provide financing for the Havila Foresight and Havila Harmony vessels, are demanding payments of outstanding amounts under the restructuring deal signed on June 19, 2020. The repayable includes 130.8 million Norwegian kroner of interest-bearing debt, 595.1 million kroner of B-tranche debt, and 7.9 million kroner of default interest. The parties are in legal dispute over whether the company breached the terms of the agreement. Havila Shipping denies any breach and maintains that the banks should convert outstanding amounts into shares pursuant to the terms of the agreement. On Dec. 8, the Oslo District Court ruled in favor of the banks, but the company vowed to make an appeal, with the case expected to be discussed by the Borgarting Court of Appeal in 2026 or early 2027.
