06:07 AM EST, 12/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- A group of Swiss lawmakers is preparing a proposal that would ease the burden of the planned capital rule changes that would require UBS Group (UBSG.SW) to add $24 billion to its capital, Reuters reported Friday citing a document it saw. The government's fresh proposal reportedly includes allowing the Swiss bank to use additional tier 1 debt to cover up to half of the requirement for foreign subsidiaries, among others. Near midday in Switzerland, the stock was over 1% in the green at around 35 francs per share, the highest level since early 2008. UBS did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
