Nel Greenlights 1 GW Alkaline Production Plan in Norway

05:35 AM EST, 12/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Nel ASA (NEL.OL) said Friday its board approved the construction of up to 1-gigawatt production capacity for its Next Generation Pressurized Alkaline technology platform at the Herøya facility in Norway. The Norwegian hydrogen electrolyzer technology company's project, backed by the EU Innovation Fund, followed full-scale testing. The commercial launch is expected in the first half of 2026, with large-scale deliveries in 2027.
