The reporter learned from the Maritime Administration of the Ministry of Transport that today, the “punctual cost reduction for container shipping” route was officially launched from Zhoushan Port in Ningbo, China to Ho Chi Minh Port in Vietnam. Ningbo Zhoushan Port is the world's largest port, with an annual cargo throughput of over 1.4 billion tons and 800,000 inbound and outbound ships. Due to natural conditions such as narrow waterways, the waterways are busy and traffic is complicated. In 2019, the Zhejiang Ningbo Maritime Administration took the lead in implementing the integration of ship traffic organizations in the core port area of Zhoushan Port in Ningbo, coordinating resources such as waterways, anchorages, pilotage, etc., and launched a “ship schedule” to uniformly publish the plan one day in advance. After implementation, the main channel punctuality rate reached 98%, and the efficiency of entry and exit increased by 35%. In response to the high demand for container liner shipping alignment rates, the Ningbo Maritime Administration has further optimized this mechanism and launched the “Container Shipping Punctual Cost Reduction Plan” to improve liner punctuality and reduce overall costs.
