Shell Partnership Plans New Drilling Program for Exploration Block Offshore Namibia

11:55 PM EST, 12/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Shell (SHEL.L, SHELL.AS) and its partners QatarEnergy and Namcor are planning to launch in April 2026 a new drilling program for the Petroleum Exploration Licence 39 exploration block offshore Namibia. In a LinkedIn post on Thursday, Shell Namibia Country Chair Eduardo Tamayo said the partnership contracted Northern Ocean's Deepsea Mira drilling unit for the campaign. Norwegian oil and gas drilling company Odfjell Drilling (ODL.OL) will operate the unit.
