Argentina's Chief Cabinet Minister Manuel Adolny announced the report on the second anniversary of the current administration on the 10th. Adolny said that two years ago, President Millet set three major goals: eliminating fiscal deficits and inflation, safeguarding public order, and reducing public spending. Currently, Argentina has achieved a fiscal surplus for two consecutive years. The monthly inflation rate fell from 25.5% in December 2023 to 1.6% in June this year, and the poverty rate fell from 52.9% to 31.6%. In terms of public order and safety, the number of homicides across the country fell to its lowest level in 25 years. As of October this year, government public spending actually fell 27.7% compared to 2023. In the process, the Millay government closed down 8 departments, abolished nearly 100 secretariats and deputy secretariats, abolished more than 200 institutions with duplicated or outdated functions, and reduced the number of national employees by about 60,000. Furthermore, the Millay government continues to promote tax reduction measures, stimulate economic growth, reduce the withholding tax rate on agricultural exports, and will abolish tariffs on mobile phones and other electronic products from January next year.
