The Chinese Academy of Information and Communications Technology released an analysis report on the operation of the domestic mobile phone market in October 2025: the shipment volume was 32.267 million units, of which 5G phones accounted for 90.9%

The Zhitong Finance App learned that on December 11, the Chinese Academy of Information and Communications Technology released an analysis report on the operation of the domestic mobile phone market in October 2025. In October 2025, the domestic market shipped 32.267 million mobile phones, up 8.7% year on year. Among them, 29.326 million 5G phones were sold, up 9.7% year on year, accounting for 90.9% of mobile phone shipments during the same period.

From January to October 2025, the domestic market shipped 252 million mobile phones, up 0.8% year on year, including 217 million 5G phones, up 1.3% year on year, accounting for 86.0% of mobile phone shipments during the same period.

In October 2025, 45 new mobile phone models were launched in China, up 9.8% year on year, including 19 5G phones, down 26.9% year on year, accounting for 42.2% of the number of new mobile phone models launched during the same period.

From January to October 2025, 443 new mobile phone models were launched in China, up 19.4% year on year, including 199 5G phones, down 2.5% year on year, accounting for 44.9% of the number of new mobile phone models launched during the same period.

Domestic mobile phone market domestic and foreign brand composition

In October 2025, domestic brand mobile phones were shipped 25.24 million units, up 7.6% year on year, accounting for 78.2% of mobile phone shipments during the same period; 43 new models of domestic brands were launched, up 4.9% year on year, accounting for 95.6% of the number of new mobile phone models launched during the same period.

From January to October 2025, domestic brand phones were shipped 218 million units, up 2.9% year on year, accounting for 86.4% of mobile phone shipments during the same period; domestic brands launched 421 new models, up 20.6% year on year, accounting for 95.0% of the number of new mobile phone models launched during the same period.

Domestic smartphone development

In October 2025, 31.356 million smartphones were shipped, up 12.4% year on year, accounting for 97.2% of mobile phone shipments during the same period; 26 new smartphone models were launched, down 21.2% year on year, accounting for 57.8% of the number of new mobile phone models launched during the same period.

From January to October 2025, 233 million smartphone units were shipped, down 0.3% year on year, accounting for 92.5% of mobile phone shipments during the same period; 285 new smartphone models were launched, up 7.5% year on year, accounting for 64.3% of the number of new mobile phone models launched during the same period.
