The Zhitong Finance App learned that South Korea's largest online retailer Coupang (CPNG.US) announced on Wednesday that its CEO Park Dae-jun (Park Dae-jun) has resigned due to this large-scale data breach. Coupang said Harold Rogers (Harold Rogers), the chief executive of its US parent company, will be the interim CEO.
Prior to this personnel change, South Korean police launched a raid on Coupang's headquarters in Seoul on Tuesday to gather evidence relating to a large-scale data breach involving the personal information of more than 33 million people.
The data breach continued for several months from June 2025, and its impact was extremely wide, affecting almost two-thirds of South Korea's population. The leaked information included names, phone numbers, email addresses, and shipping details.
