Holcim Partners with 44.01 for Carbon Capture, Mineralization Project in UAE

03:36 AM EST, 12/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Cement producer Holcim (HOLN.SW) and carbon removal company 44.01 launched a pilot project in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, according to a Tuesday release. The project aims to mineralize carbon dioxide captured from the cement industry. Initially, five tonnes of carbon dioxide per day will be captured and permanently stored in an underground rock formation to mineralize. The project is being implemented in collaboration with NT Energies, a joint venture between engineering and construction company NMDC Energy (ADX:NMDCENR) and Technip Energies (TE.PA). It is also supported by Fujairah Natural Resources Corp.
