According to a recent study by market research agency Gartner, it is difficult to maintain the current AI investment boom in the automotive industry for a long time. It is estimated that only about 5% of car manufacturers will maintain strong AI investment by 2029, but now this ratio is over 95%, which means that most manufacturers' investment will shrink sharply. The agency believes that in the future, those that can truly stand out from the AI competition will be a few management teams with a solid software foundation and high technical acumen, as well as car manufacturers that always adhere to long-term AI strategies. Gartner analyst Pedro Pacheco pointed out that structural barriers and conservative thinking within traditional car manufacturers are still lagging behind. To truly seize AI opportunities, car manufacturers must transform into digital-first organizations, remove internal barriers, elevate technology strategies to the highest decision-making level, and even let software executives report directly to the CEO.
