Norway's Equinor Discovers Gas, Condensate Reservoirs in North Sea

03:13 AM EST, 12/05/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Norwegian oil and gas group Equinor (EQNR.OL) said Friday it made two gas and condensate discoveries at the Lofn and Langemann wells in the Sleipner area of the North Sea using ocean bottom node seismic technology. According to preliminary estimates, the reservoirs in production license 1140 contain between 5 million and 18 million standard cubic meters of recoverable oil equivalents, representing 30 million barrels to 110 million barrels. Equinor Energy, a unit of Equinor, holds a 60% interest in the license, while Aker BP (AKRBP.OL) owns the remaining 40%.
