On December 4, the Ministry of Education held a conference to promote the integrated training of outstanding engineers in obstetrics and education. The conference emphasized that the current reform of excellent engineer training is being upgraded from forging consensus, constructing mechanisms, and accumulating experience to establishing standards, dynamic optimization, improving quality and capacity expansion. We must be confident and continue to work hard to push forward the “15th Five-Year Plan” outstanding engineer training reform to a new level. The first is to take the construction of standards and certification systems as a guide to build a training system for outstanding engineers with Chinese characteristics, and aim to use 5 to 10 years to make the National Institute of Outstanding Engineers a strategic base and highland for the training of outstanding engineers. Second, building training factors and reforming evaluation mechanisms are the key, promoting deepening industry-academia cooperation mechanisms, giving prominence to ideological and political education, and forming joint efforts to educate people. The third is to drive the overall transformation of higher engineering education, combine undergraduate talent training reforms, explore comprehensive training mechanisms, promote cross-integration of disciplines, and accelerate AI to empower engineering education reform and innovation. Fourth, explore the integrated model of industry and education according to local conditions, drive the improvement of the quality of engineering education, promote the improvement of the regional innovation system, and serve the transformation and upgrading of regional industries. The fifth is to establish an international cooperation mechanism, strengthen normalized exchanges between Chinese and foreign teachers and students, steadily expand the construction layout of outstanding overseas engineering colleges, promote international mutual recognition, and service industries to go overseas.
