Adobe Inc. (NASDAQ:ADBE) stock rose Thursday as investors bought shares following a prolonged decline. The rebound came despite weakness in the broader market.
The Nasdaq fell 0.57%, while the S&P 500 declined 0.32%.
Adobe’s gains appeared driven by technical buying rather than a specific company announcement.
The stock has remained under pressure and trades below several key moving averages. However, the recent decline may be attracting investors seeking a potential recovery.
Adobe’s gains also stood out as broader technology stocks declined.
Separately, Adobe also announced Thursday an expanded partnership with Heathrow Airport to improve digital services for more than 84.5 million annual passengers using artificial intelligence.
Heathrow will use Adobe’s AI-powered customer experience tools to deliver personalized travel information and build a new website serving more than 50 million annual visitors.
The airport will also deploy Adobe Brand Visibility to improve the accuracy and visibility of its content across AI platforms, including ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot.
Adobe remains in a longer-term downtrend, with shares falling 32.22% over the past 12 months.
The stock trades below its 20-day, 50-day, 100-day and 200-day simple moving averages (SMAs).
Shares are 2.3% below the 20-day SMA of $242.98 and 8% below the 50-day SMA of $257.90. These levels could limit further gains.
The moving average convergence divergence (MACD) indicator remains below its signal line, suggesting weak momentum.
Meanwhile, the 20-day SMA remains below the 50-day SMA, signaling near-term weakness. However, the 50-day SMA is still above the 200-day SMA following an October golden cross.
This mixed setup suggests that Adobe could face resistance even if the recovery continues. Key technical levels:
