Gina Hinojosa, the US governor designate of Texas, said at her first press conference after winning the election that she is very concerned about a potential deal to sell state park land to Musk's SpaceX. Hinojosa said she spoke with the head of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Service on Thursday and asked that “no action be taken” during her transfer of power. Earlier, it was reported that the state is considering selling Boca Chica State Park, and SpaceX is a potential buyer, but Texas Governor Greg Abbott later said that no deal will be submitted for a vote in the near future.
