Telenor Clears Regulatory Hurdles for Purchase of Controlling Stake in Bahnhof

11:54 PM EST, 11/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Telenor's (TEL.OL) Telenor Sverige secured approval from the Swedish Competition Authority for its acquisition of a controlling stake in Bahnhof (BAHN-B.ST), a Stockholm-based internet and telecom services company. The Norwegian telecommunications group said Monday that it has cleared all regulatory hurdles for the transactions covering 57.5% of the shares and 87.9% of the votes in Bahnhof. The deal obtained foreign direct investment clearance from the Inspectorate of Strategic Products on Oct. 20. Completion is expected shortly and will trigger a mandatory offer for Bahnhof, which Telenor intends to exercise at 62 kronor per share as soon as practicable.
