In the first three quarters of this year, Shanxi coalbed methane production reached 11.74 billion cubic meters, a record high for the same period, accounting for about 80.2% of the country's production. The estimated resource volume of coalbed methane buried at a depth of 2,000 meters in Shanxi is about 8.31 trillion cubic meters, accounting for nearly one-third of the country. Relying on coalbed methane resources, Shanxi has overcome the helium problem and has formed a “membrane separation+pressure pressure adsorption+alloy dehydrogenation+low temperature purification” combination process route, successfully producing 6N grade ultra-high purity helium, and production capacity and output have been steadily increasing.
