Valmet, Metsä Fibre Settle Arbitration Dispute Over Kemi Mill in Finland

08:38 AM EDT, 10/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Valmet (VALMT.HE) and Finnish wood-based bioproducts company Metsä Fibre agreed to settle their arbitration dispute over the Kemi bioproduct mill in Finland, ending all legal proceedings. Metsä Fibre initially sought 47 million euros from the Finnish industrial company in an arbitration filed on Oct. 15, 2024, but the outstanding claim fell to 33.5 million euros at the end of the third quarter, according to a Friday release. The settlement terms remain confidential, with the financial impact to be recorded in Valmet's fourth-quarter results.
