Idun Industrier just printed its Q3 2026 report with a clean headline. Sales reached SEK 660m and net income landed at SEK 22m. The fresh numbers arrived with the stock closing at SEK 333 on Friday, after a steady grind higher over the past month, not a euphoric spike or panic drop.

What really moved the emotional needle was profitability. EBITA pushed above SEK 100m in a single quarter for the first time, and the Q3 EBITA margin of 15.3% sat above the already strong rolling 12 month level of about 14%. Price action looked calm while the margin story spoke much louder.

Idun Industrier: Testing The Bullish Compounding Story

The upbeat version of the Idun Industrier story rests on steady M&A, tighter operations and cheaper funding working together.

"A diversified portfolio of 22 mainly market leading Nordic industrial companies with stable rolling 12 month margins, combined with financial targets for EBITDA growth of 15% over time and net debt to EBITDA below 3.5, provides a framework that can support compounding effects in revenue, EBITA and earnings per share if execution continues."

Q3 shows that framework in action. EBITA exceeded SEK 100m and the quarter ran at a 15.3% EBITA margin versus about 14% on a rolling 12 month view. Net debt to EBITDA of 2.5x stays within the leverage ceiling while M&A and organic recovery both contributed to double digit organic EBITA growth.

Idun Industrier: Checking The Slowdown And Margin Fears

The bear story focuses on softer underlying demand and the risk that acquisition benefits fade just as margins and organic contribution weaken.

"Organic performance has recently been soft, with organic sales in service and maintenance declining around 3% and organic EBITA declining by double digits. If acquired EBITA contributions of about SEK 50 million per year slow or future acquisitions are delayed, overall revenue growth and earnings could rely more heavily on modest or volatile organic trends."

Q3 pushes back on that concern for now. Service and maintenance delivered very strong sales, EBITA rose to SEK 41m with margin around 16%, and management reported roughly 11% organic growth in both sales and EBITA. Acquisition pace has been steady with Safety Reflector added, so the feared gap from weaker deal flow did not appear in this quarter.

Hunt Quiet Fundamental Disconnects

Idun Industrier just showed how a cleaner margin story does not always translate into big share price moves. The real opportunity sits in finding stocks that could be undervalued before the market closes the gap.
