Sodexo closed at €59.95 on 23 October, roughly flat over the past week. However, the fresh FY 2026 earnings tell a tenser story than the share chart suggests. The group delivered about €24.0b in revenue with an underlying operating margin of 3.4%, held in check by heavy restructuring and a sizeable one off loss of €216m that weighed on net profit.
Short term traders will focus on that margin squeeze and modest organic growth. Longer term holders will be more interested in how this reset interacts with a 28.8x P/E and multi year earnings forecasts.

Management says the real acceleration only starts after FY-27. Ask Charlie what Sodexo’s 2030 margin target really hinges on.
Supporters argue that Sodexo’s Shift & Grow framework and North American focus can reset the growth engine.
"Sodexo’s Shift & Grow 2030 plan targets organic growth above 5% and underlying operating margin above 5% by fiscal 2030, which keeps a long runway of execution ahead that could influence revenue and earnings."
FY 2026 organic growth of 2.0% and a 3.4% underlying operating margin show progress on the base but leave a wide gap to those 2030 targets. Early supply chain and technology investments are flowing through as higher operating costs and restructuring, so the plan is in motion but not yet validating the higher growth and margin ambition.
The worry is that the same transformation needed for growth could weaken cash and delay the margin story.
"The planned non recurring transformation spend of about €1b, together with a step up in recurring commercial operating expenses of about €100m and higher capital expenditure at 2.5% to 3% of revenue, could weigh on free cash generation for longer than expected and limit the support that earnings and cash flow provide to Sodexo's share price."
FY 2026 already shows this tension. Restructuring charges of €216m, capex at 2.5% of revenue and higher commercial and tech spending held the underlying operating margin at 3.4% and free cash flow at €379m. Rising net financial expense and guided leverage of 2.6 to 2.8x in FY 2027 point to tighter headroom while the transformation runs.
