Barclays to Launch GBP500 Million Share Buyback Program

03:25 AM EDT, 10/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Barclays (BARC.L) will execute a new share buyback program of up to 500 million pounds sterling immediately upon completion of an ongoing 1 billion-pound repurchase scheme. The British lender said Friday that the new program will formally start on the business day after completion of the ongoing scheme, which launched on July 29, 2026. The new program will run until April 16, 2027. The bank intends to further reduce its share capital through the new program, with shares to be acquired earmarked for cancellation. It sought the assistance of J.P. Morgan Securities for the execution of the program.
