We learned from Shanghai Customs that in the first three quarters of this year, Shanghai achieved imports and exports of 3.94 trillion yuan, an increase of 17.9% over the previous year; of these, exports were 1.81 trillion yuan, an increase of 22.3%, and imports were 2.13 trillion yuan, an increase of 14.4%. The scale of imports and exports has steadily ranked fourth among the country's provinces and cities, accounting for 9.9% of the country's total foreign trade, and continues to play the role of a “ballast stone” and “weather vane” for foreign trade in the Yangtze River Delta and the whole country.
