06:58 AM EDT, 10/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Elkem (ELK.OL) signed a new power purchase agreement with Iceland's state-owned utility Landsvirkjun for long-term electricity supply to its local ferrosilicon plant. The take-or-pay contract runs until 2039 and includes the delivery of 127 megawatts of electricity, with a fixed floor price and a partial link to ferrosilicon market rates, effective from April 2029, according to a Thursday release. The metals and materials company's ferrosilicon plant in Iceland has a production capacity of 120,000 metric tonnes per year and is one of the largest ferrosilicon facilities outside China.
