Key Points

  • Healthcare Services raised its 2027 revenue growth target to low double digits.

  • The NEXDINE Hospitality acquisition adds over $150 million in annual revenue.

  • Management repurchased $56.6 million of common stock year to date.

On its third-quarter 2026 earnings call, held on Oct. 21, 2026, Healthcare Services (NASDAQ:HCSG) raised its 2027 revenue growth outlook from mid-single digits to low double digits following its acquisition of NEXDINE Hospitality. Expanding into higher-margin dining and hospitality segments provides the company with a clearer runway for top-line expansion and earnings growth. A disciplined balance sheet and cost-pass-through contracts give management the operational flexibility to compound value over time. Three things management said stand out.

1. Acquisition of NEXDINE Hospitality Expands Senior Living Footprint

Management completed the acquisition of NEXDINE Hospitality on Oct. 6, 2026, adding over $150 million in annual revenue at comparable margins. The purchase accelerates growth across senior care and campus dining environments, providing immediate earnings accretion and scaling the dining services division.

“The acquisition of NEXDINE Hospitality on October 6 represents a significant milestone as it expands our footprint in the senior living and hospitality-driven markets and deepens our service capabilities across our family of brands,” said Ted Wahl, Chief Executive Officer.

2. Upgraded Contractual Frameworks Protect Profit Margins From Cost Inflation

Inflationary pressures in labor and food supply can erode profitability in facility management contracts. Updated agreements allow Healthcare Services to transfer direct expense increases to clients, keeping cost of services near the target range of 86% of revenue.

Ultimately, our enhanced contractual frameworks allow us to pass through unavoidable cost increases, ensuring we are preserving our margins while continuing to deliver market-leading service.

3. Capital Allocation Balances Organic Expansion With Share Repurchases

Healthcare Services maintains $204.3 million in cash and marketable securities alongside an unutilized $300 million credit facility. Management repurchased $11.7 million of common stock during the third quarter, advancing a $75 million 12-month share buyback target while preserving liquidity for mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

According to Vikas Singh, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, “We continue to execute on our capital allocation priorities across organic growth, M&A, and share repurchases. Our approach continues to be grounded in discipline, and our balance sheet provides us the flexibility to pursue all of these priorities in tandem.”

Looking Ahead

Revenue momentum accelerates heading into the fourth quarter of 2026, with revenue expected between $535 million and $545 million. Consistent service execution and retention rates above 90% strengthen market positioning.

Beyond that, the lines of communication are wide open, and there is plenty of opportunity to leverage one another's best ideas, share best practices, and continue on our growth journey.
-- Matt McKee, Chief Communications Officer

Demographic shifts drive expanding long-term demand across senior care facilities. Contractual price protections and substantial liquidity position the company to compound shareholder value.

With the industry at the beginning of a multi-decade demographic tailwind, our unified health and hospitality platform strategically positions us to fulfill our vision and drive sustained long-term value creation for our shareholders.
-- Ted Wahl, Chief Executive Officer
