With a market cap of $21.1 billion, Super Micro Computer, Inc. (SMCI) is a prominent technology company that designs and manufactures high-performance servers, storage systems, and data center infrastructure for artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, enterprise IT, and high-performance computing applications. The San Jose, California-based company specializes in customizable, energy-efficient computing solutions, including GPU-optimized servers, liquid-cooling systems, networking equipment, and integrated rack-scale systems that support AI workloads and large-scale data center deployments.

The chip titan is set to announce its fiscal Q1 2027 results soon. Ahead of this event, analysts expect SMCI to report an EPS of $0.94, a robust 261.5% jump from $0.26 in the year-ago quarter. It has exceeded Wall Street's earnings expectations in each of the past quarters, which is notable.

Super Micro Computer shares fell 5.5% on Oct. 12 after a former contractor pleaded guilty to conspiring with company co-founder Yih-Shyan Liaw to illegally export AI servers to China. Prosecutors alleged that the scheme involved shipping approximately $2.5 billion worth of AI servers powered by Nvidia chips without the required licenses. The stock also faced pressure from a $7 billion equity offering and broader weakness in AI stocks amid concerns about OpenAI’s revenue figures.

Analysts' consensus view on SMCI stock remains cautious, with an overall “Hold” rating. Out of 20 analysts covering the stock, three recommend a "Strong Buy," two "Moderate Buys," 12 "Holds," one has a "Moderate Sell," and two give a "Strong Sell" rating. The average analyst price target is $42.25, indicating a potential upside of 31.6% from the current levels.
