Santa Clara, California-based Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) is a global semiconductor company that develops high-performance computing and graphics technologies. Valued at $402.4 billion by market cap, its product portfolio includes Ryzen processors for desktops and laptops, EPYC server CPUs, Instinct AI accelerators, Radeon graphics cards, and adaptive computing solutions for embedded applications.

The semiconductor giant is expected to announce its fiscal third-quarter earnings for 2026 after the market closes on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Wall Street is bracing for a strong earnings performance from AMD, with analysts expecting AMD to report a profit of $1.67 per share on a diluted basis, up 72.2% from $0.97 per share in the year-ago quarter. AMD has also demonstrated solid earnings execution, meeting or surpassing consensus estimates in each of the past four quarters.

For the current year, analysts expect AMD to report EPS of $6.49, up 98.5% from $3.27 in fiscal 2025. Its EPS is expected to rise 117.4% year over year to $14.11 in fiscal 2027.

Advanced Micro Devices has outpaced the broader market over the past year, fueled by surging demand for AI chips and data-center infrastructure, strong revenue growth, and rising earnings expectations. Investor optimism has also grown as AMD expands its AI ambitions beyond processors and accelerators into a broader infrastructure ecosystem.

Recently, AMD unveiled its Helion agentic AI rack blueprint, featuring configurations powered by sixth-generation EPYC CPUs and systems combining EPYC processors with Instinct MI350P GPUs. Built on Open Compute Project standards, the platform could broaden AMD’s reach among hyperscalers and enterprise customers as demand for agentic AI infrastructure accelerates.

Adding to its growth ambitions, AMD announced an $8.2 billion all-stock acquisition of World Labs in late September. Founded by AI researcher Fei-Fei Li, the startup specializes in 3D world models that enable AI to understand and generate realistic virtual environments. The deal could strengthen AMD’s competitive position against Nvidia in emerging applications such as robotics, simulation, digital twins, and autonomous machines, opening new avenues for long-term AI-driven growth.

Analysts’ consensus opinion on AMD stock is very bullish, with a “Strong Buy” rating overall. Out of 47 analysts covering the stock, 37 advise a “Strong Buy” rating, two suggest a “Moderate Buy,” and eight give a “Hold.” AMD’s average analyst price target is $653.74, indicating a potential upside of 23.6% from the current levels.
