Rheinmetall Invests EUR20 Million to Expand Production at Albacete Site in Spain

09:39 AM EDT, 10/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Rheinmetall (RHM.F) made a 20 million-euro investment to expand its production capacities at its Albacete site in Spain, according to a Friday release. The German defense group's unit Rheinmetall Expal Munitions will commission a new medium-calibre production facility at the site in October, with annual capacity reaching 1.2 million projectiles and 1.8 million cartridge cases. The Albacete site's workforce is expected to rise to 300 from 210. The moves are part of the company's Firepower project to expand its ammunition production capacity in Europe.
