Gapwaves Secures SEK2 Million Funding to Develop Drone Detection System

04:46 AM EDT, 10/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Gapwaves (GAPW-B.ST) secured 1.7 million kronor in funding from Swedish innovation authority Vinnova to develop a compact and cost-effective drone detection system. The radar demonstrator will be developed using Gapwaves' antenna and power amplification technology with a commercially available automotive radar chip for integration into counter-unmanned aircraft systems, according to a Friday release. The Swedish waveguide antenna maker added that the project will run for one year and builds on its patented multi-layer waveguide technology.
