The Zhitong Finance App notes that Hims & Hers Health (HIMS.US) closed up 6% on Thursday. Earlier, it was reported that the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had submitted a temporary entry policy for compound pharmacies to produce peptide products to the White House for review.

The document was delivered to the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) under the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on Tuesday.

Two government officials told the media that the intention of the plan is for compounding pharmacies to start producing some of the most popular peptide products, such as BPC-157.

Peptide products received support from US Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. On the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast in February of this year, he stated that he is a “super fan” of peptides, adding, “I've used it myself, and it really works well on a few wounds.”

In the absence of scientific evidence, peptide products have also been touted on social media for benefits such as muscle building, skin health, energy enhancement, and cognitive function improvement.

The minister previously argued that peptide products should be produced in the US because most peptides currently used by Americans are produced overseas, and there are doubts about their quality and safety.

At the most basic level, peptides are the building blocks of proteins, and the body itself produces various peptides.

In July of this year, an advisory board of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) voted to allow compounding pharmacies to use BPC-157 for personalized treatment. The expert group also approved several other peptide products.
