Bloomberg News reported Thursday, citing five unnamed sources with knowledge of the matter, that the talks are at an advance stage but there is no certainty that the two companies will eventually join the consortium. The Global Diamond Consortium is led by Gareth Penny, former chief executive officer of De Beers.
