Scottsdale, Arizona-based ON Semiconductor Corporation (ON) provides intelligent sensing and power solutions in the United States and internationally. The company has a market cap of $29.9 billion and operates through three segments: Power Solutions Group, Analog and Mixed-Signal Group, and Intelligent Sensing Group. The company is expected to release its Q3 2026 earnings soon.
Ahead of the event, analysts expect the company’s EPS to be $0.87 on a diluted basis, up 38.1% from $0.63 in the year-ago quarter. The company has exceeded Wall Street’s EPS estimates in each of its last four quarters, which is impressive.
For fiscal 2026, analysts project the company’s EPS to be $3.20, up 36.2% from $2.35 in fiscal 2025. Moreover, its EPS is expected to rise by roughly 40% year over year (YoY) to $4.48 in fiscal 2027.
ON stock has surged 48.1% over the past 52 weeks, comfortably outpacing the S&P 500 Index’s ($SPX) 16.2% rise and the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF’s (XLK) 35.3% rise during the same time frame.
On Oct. 2, ON stock rose 6% following the announcement of the company’s revised merger agreement to acquire Synaptics Incorporated for $123 per share in cash, for a total transaction amount of $5.7 billion, down from $7 billion mentioned previously. With the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) having already cleared the deal, the closure is expected to happen sometime in mid-2027. Investors were particularly cheery with this announcement since the removal of an all-stock structure payment previously mentioned; the now all-cash payment removes all the volatility from the acquisition and expands the company’s portfolio even further.
Analysts are also moderately bullish about ON, with the stock having a “Moderate Buy” rating overall. Among the 29 analysts covering the stock, 10 recommend a “Strong Buy,” two recommend a “Moderate Buy,” and 17 recommend a “Hold.” ON’s average analyst price target of $102.36 offers a 39.5% upside potential.
