Nordea Bank Pauses Share Buybacks Amid Potential Regulatory Change

The Nordic lender believes the European Central Bank will likely require a further increase in its risk exposure amount, even if discussions are ongoing and no decisions are expected before 2027, according to a Thursday release. Nordea is in talks with the central bank over new internal ratings-based capital models for its non-retail lending portfolios.
