Lakefront Biotherapeutics Closes Sale of Early-stage Cell Therapy Assets

12:12 AM EDT, 10/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Lakefront Biotherapeutics (LKFT.AS) completed the transfer of its early-stage cell therapy pipeline to Belgium-based biotechnology company Armed Cell Therapeutics for an upfront payment of 8 million euros. The Amsterdam-listed biotechnology company could receive up to $230 million in milestone payments and a low-single-digit royalty, according to a Wednesday release. The transaction "substantially" wraps up Lakefront's plan to wind down its cell therapy activities. Armed Cell will independently proceed with the sold preclinical assets, comprising multi-targeting and armed CAR-T constructs for the prevention of cancer treatment resistance.
