Saudi Civil Aviation Authority Extends Closure of Riyadh Airport

12:44 PM EDT, 10/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation extended the suspension of operations at Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport "to allow for the completion of procedures" to ensure operational readiness and safety, according to a Monday social media post on X. The airport will now remain closed until Saturday, Reuters reported, citing a Notice to Airmen issued on Monday. The airport's operations have been suspended since Oct. 10, following an attack by the Houthi group that resulted in a number of fatalities and injuries.
