If you had seen the split between bullish and cautious voices on Qt Group in late 2025 and decided to sit it out, the next twelve months would have looked very different from owning the stock. Holding Qt Group over the past year would have meant a 23.7% loss, including dividends. With revenue at €61.261 million yet net margin sliding to 3.9% by Q2 2026, which early assumption about growth, profitability or valuation would you want to recheck first?

The shares cost €46.58 at the start of the period, and anyone looking at Qt Group then had to choose between two very different yet plausible stories.
On the bullish side, one camp saw embedded devices and IoT as a long-term engine, backing a Fair Value of €69, a price they felt those growth assumptions could justify. That view leaned on revenue rising 13.2% a year with profit margin eventually reaching 27.3%.
The more cautious narrative pointed to a Fair Value of €37.69 based on steadier progress. It rested on revenue expanding 9.0% a year, with net margin around 21.0%, and assumed a future P/E of 20.0x while highlighting integration risk around IAR Systems.
The clearest datapoint for Qt Group came from Q2 2026. Revenue was €61.261 million compared with €51.224 million a year earlier, which lent some support to both growth narratives. Profit told a different story. Net income was €2.396 million against €6.74 million and net margin moved from 13.2% to 3.9%, which challenged the optimistic profitability case.
The takeaway for other stocks is simple. When a thesis leans on margin expansion, track net margin and absolute earnings in each report and test whether both are actually moving toward the forecasted level.
Qt Group trades at €34.16, with the selected Narrative arguing that its Fair Value sits above that level. The pitch rests on embedded software, GUI tools and QA products remaining central to how customers build and test increasingly complex devices.
The sharper question now is simple. For the share price fall to look like an opportunity rather than a warning, you would need to believe that integration of IAR and cost restructuring can translate that product footprint into sustainably stronger earnings power.
"The broader shift toward more software rich devices and graphical user interfaces across automotive, consumer electronics, medical and other embedded markets supports demand for Qt's core development tools over time, which can feed through to higher license revenue and distribution license income."
