UK Further Expands Sanctions Against Russia

11:23 AM EDT, 10/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The UK unveiled a fresh round of sanctions against Russia, targeting shadow fleet tankers, oil companies and other entities that help fund the latter's wartime economy. The British government added 38 new designations to its sanctions list, including two more Russian oil companies, three cryptocurrency exchanges, two payment platforms and 12 more shadow fleet oil tankers, according to a Thursday release. The latest package also targets 17 entities and individuals involved in supplying goods, such as machine tools and electronics, that the UK, the US and the European Union deem crucial to Russia's military.
