Manchester City of the Premier League issued a statement today saying that it has appealed against the Independent Commission's ruling that it seriously violates the financial regulations of the Premier League and is seeking to overturn the ruling in order to avoid possible severe sanctions. The committee found that Manchester City violated the relevant financial regulations of the Premier League during the 2009-2010 to 2017-2018 season, inflated revenue and underreported costs by more than 900 million pounds by using false commercial contracts, etc., and also determined that the club did not fully fulfill its obligation to cooperate during the Premier League investigation process. Manchester City was “disappointed and surprised” by the ruling.
