AstraZeneca, Daiichi Sankyo, Summit Therapeutics to Collaborate on Cancer Combination Therapy Trials

03:07 AM EDT, 10/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- AstraZeneca (AZN.L, AZN.ST) and Daiichi Sankyo are partnering with Summit Therapeutics to evaluate Datroway combination therapy in treating multiple tumour types, including lung and breast cancers. The companies intend to start with a late-stage trial in 1st-line triple-negative breast cancer using the specifically engineered TROP2-directed DXd antibody-drug conjugate Datroway, in combination with ivonescimab, according to a Friday release. Datroway, which was discovered by Daiichi Sankyo, is being jointly developed and commercialized by AstraZeneca and Daiichi Sankyo. The companies will share the trial costs and will retain development and commercial rights to their respective medicines.
