Skanska Wins $271 Million Pier Construction Contract in US

02:41 AM EDT, 10/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Skanska (SKA-B.ST) secured a $271 million contract to build a new homeport pier at Naval Station Newport in Rhode Island, US. The Swedish construction group has already begun work on the project, which includes demolishing the existing Pier 1 and building a new pier capable of berthing four US Coast Guard Offshore Patrol Cutters, according to a Friday release. Completion is scheduled for March 2030.
