Washington, D.C.-based Danaher Corporation (DHR) is a global life sciences and diagnostics company that develops the tools, technologies and services used to advance biomedical research, manufacture medicines and diagnose diseases. The company has a market cap of $135.3 billion and operates through Biotechnology, Life Sciences, and Diagnostics segments.
DHR is expected to release its Q3 2026 earnings on Wednesday, Oct. 21, before the market opens. Ahead of the event, analysts expect the company’s EPS to be $1.96 on a diluted basis, up 3.7% from $1.89 in the year-ago quarter. The company has exceeded Wall Street’s EPS estimates in each of its last four quarters.
Looking further ahead, analysts project the company’s FY2026 EPS to be $8.53, up 9.4% from $7.80 in fiscal 2025. Moreover, its EPS is expected to rise by roughly 8.6% year over year to $9.26 in fiscal 2027.
DHR stock has gained 11.8% over the past 52 weeks, underperforming the S&P 500 Index’s ($SPX) 14% rise and the State Street Healthcare Select Sector SPDR ETF’s (XLV) 21% rise during the same time frame.
Danaher has lagged the broader market over the past year as sluggish organic growth, declining margins and weaker EPS trends have weighed on investor sentiment. Organic revenue growth averaged just 1.9% over the past two years, while adjusted operating margin has declined 7.8 percentage points over five years to 28.3%. At the same time, EPS has fallen at an average annual rate of 1.6% over the past five years, highlighting persistent pressure on profitability and underlying earnings growth.
On a positive note, DHR shares jumped 3% on Sept. 15 after the company approved a quarterly cash dividend of $0.40 per share, payable on Oct. 30, 2026, continuing its practice of returning capital to shareholders.
Wall Street remains firmly positive on Danaher, with the stock carrying an overall “Strong Buy” rating. Of the 25 analysts covering DHR, 18 recommend a Strong Buy, two a Moderate Buy, and five a Hold. The average price target of $227.38 implies about 2.6% upside from current levels, reflecting continued confidence in the company’s earnings growth and long-term prospects.
