Final PMI: French Manufacturing Sector Growth Slows in September

04:06 AM EDT, 10/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- France's manufacturing sector activity softened in September, as production growth expanded at a slower pace amid the fifth straight month of new order declines, S&P Global data showed Thursday. The final S&P Global France Manufacturing PMI fell to 50.6 from 51.1 in August, against the flash estimate of 50.3. Still, the reading came in above the critical 50 threshold for the second consecutive month.
