China's western Sichuan lithium mine prospecting made another breakthrough, adding about 1.046,800 tons of lithium carbonate equivalent. After the storage increase was completed, the total amount of lithium carbonate equivalent registered at the Garda lithium mine reached 253.1 million tons. The scale of the deposit was further expanded, consolidating the status of a very large pegmatite lithium mine. The reporter learned from the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences that the “119 to 167 Lithium Exploration Report in the Jiada Mining Area in Marcon City, Sichuan Province”, edited by Wang Denghong's team, a researcher at the Institute of Mineral Resources of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, recently passed the Ministry of Natural Resources's mineral resource reserves review and filing. The Garda lithium mine is located in the West Kunlun-Songpan-Ganzi giant lithium belt. This lithium belt belongs to the “Asian lithium belt” and is an important concentration area for hard rock lithium deposits in China. This time, the amount of newly registered lithium ore resources was 33.523 million tons, and the amount of lithium oxide minerals was 423,800 tons, with an average grade of 1.26%. Wang Denghong said that this increase in storage further consolidates the resource base of large lithium resource bases in western Sichuan, and is of great significance in improving China's ability to guarantee resources for hard rock lithium ore and reducing external dependence.
