Trump signed an executive order requiring all federal agencies to integrate public-facing systems with the new website America.gov, “so all of these interfaces will be directly connected to our great, smart brain, a superbrain.” Trump promoted the website during an all-day event that arranged for tech industry leaders such as Tesla's Elon Musk, Nvidia's Wong In-hoon, and Blue Origin LLC's Dave Limp. People will be able to apply for benefits, email forwarding, or name changes through the website. The initiative was led by Joe Gebbia, co-founder of Airbnb Inc., who was appointed by Trump as the first chief design officer in the US government. “There is one topic that unites everyone, men, women, young and old, regardless of political positions: government websites are simply a nightmare,” Gebbia said at a Silicon Valley-style product launch on Tuesday. The new America.gov tool will be the federal government's home page. Instead of searching for information on more than 29,000 government websites, users can get what they need by asking questions in natural language. Gebbia said that starting in 2027, the site will “move from answering questions to taking action.” He said that the site received assistance from Google Gemini and SpaceXAI Grok during development.
