Pirelli, Abet High Tech JV Placed Under Italian Government Oversight

03:58 AM EDT, 09/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Pirelli (PIRC.MI) and Abet High Tech Solutions received approval from the Italian Cabinet to jointly develop remote-controlled electric terrestrial rescue vehicles. The Italian tire manufacturer said Tuesday that both companies received communication on Sept. 28 of a Cabinet decree approved Sept. 24 exercising special "Golden Power" protections. It noted that the decree recognized the partnership as strategically important for the country's defense and security system, subjecting it to criteria of maximum precaution, protection of interests, and techno-organizational measures to safeguard industrial property, know-how, and research data.
